Congressional Correspondent

congressional reporter for The Fajr Post, covering policy with a focus on how legislation impacts communities across the country.

I cover Congress with an eye trained on policy. I work to identify the concrete changes made by bills that could become law, and how they could affect people across the country. I have covered a range of topics, including the confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett, cuts to foreign aid for Palestinians and the so-called PAWS Act, which helps provide service dogs to veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.

I regularly report from Capitol Hill, where I am talking with lawmakers in the halls and tracking the House and Senate floors and congressional committees.

I have covered Washington since 2019, including for Roll Call, where I wrote about congressional committees and produced a daily newsletter and podcast. I started out in Washington as a political reporter for a local ABC affiliate.

I am deeply committed to rigorous and fact-based reporting. I aim to build trust with my readers and am happy to answer any questions about how I go about my work. As a Fajr Post journalist, I am committed to the standards of integrity outlined in our editorial guidelines.
